You’re coming to the right city. Alenka and I couldn’t be more in-tune with Ljubljana if we tried!
Did you know, for example, that Ljubljana is a bit of a hub for really tasty food and renowned restaurants?
Heard about Jože Plečnik and his famous architecture? Or why the symbol of Ljubljana is a green dragon?
What about our wonderfully renovated, majestic castle?!
But I’m getting ahead of myself. You’re looking for Ljubljana rental apartment.
And I couldn’t recommend this gorgeous 2-bedroom Trdinova apartment more…

Hats Off to the Owners!
First of all, this apartment ticks the three most important boxes for me:
1) It’s a beautiful place,
2) The building is clean and well-maintained,
3) The location is simply superb.
Let me explain…
First and foremost, the owners remodeled the apartment to a very high standard. That’s just who they are.
Everything is new, except for the hardwood floors and old, historic doors and door frames. The elements that have remained, however, were carefully restored.
Next, only top-of-the-line kitchen and bathroom appliances were brought in. And, of course, high-quality beds, linen and towels. Plus a few designer pieces to make the place even more special.
Curious who the owners are? The apartment is actually owned by an ex-NBA and Slovenian basketball star and his wife. Pretty cool, huh?
Secondly, the apartment building is very well-maintained. It’s probably one of our best FLA locations.
The front door—which is always locked—is a pleasure to look at when coming “home”. And the entrance hall and stairways are exceptionally clean.
The building is in good shape, carefully renovated and maintained. Please see the pictures below and I think you’ll agree.
In fact, this is one of the classiest historical buildings in Ljubljana in my opinion.
And here’s a picture of the details of the ornate design on the side of the building…
Thirdly, the location can’t be beat.
The Slovenska cesta (street) has been a semi-pedestrian zone for a while now. Which means you can stroll without worrying too much about traffic.
Slovenska Street goes all the way from the new hotel Intercontinental (just some 100 meters from Trdinova apartment), past the Ljubljana Skyscraper, along the Congress Square, and to Slovene National Theater.
One short street and so much history and fun!
Moreover, Ljubljana rental apartment Trdinova is merely a five-minute walk to Prešeren Square and Old Town. An easy stroll to some of the most beautiful Ljubljana sites. And the best restaurants, shops, and cafes in the city.
In other words, the location is excellent. Just outside the Old Town to avoid its hustle and bustle. But so close to everything that you’re just minutes by foot to the heart of Ljubljana.
A Warm Welcome to Trdinova Street 2
There, we said a few words about the location and the apartment building. Let’s now look closer at the apartment itself.
I think Trdinova apartment is perfect for a couple or a small family. And also for groups of four, if you’re a bigger family or traveling friends.
However, if you need to sleep five or six that’s possible too. Just let us know and we’ll prepare a sofa bed as well.
Can I tell you a family secret?
With Alenka, we have three girls and we travel a lot. Which is not a secret. A secret is that we often ask for just two double beds although our youngest is already 8.
And not just that. It’s not uncommon that we let our girls have the master bedroom. While we take the second bedroom.
But regardless of what the sleeping arrangements are in our family we always prefer to stay in a modern style apartment.
Just like Trdinova Street apartment.
Why I Think You’ll Love Staying Here
Before I go into details, here are a few reasons our guests enjoy their time in Trdinova apartment.
- Two fine queen-sized beds with enough space for a family or group of four, plus a comfy sofa bed
- View of the iconic Ljubljana Skyscraper, just 100 meters away from the apartment
- Combined dining, kitchen, and living area, with an LCD television for cozy evenings in
- A washing machine, for ultimate comfort while traveling
- All new appliances, bright and airy spaces, and charming design
- Big windows overlooking Slovenska cesta for fun people watching and bright, natural light
- A five-minute walk to the world-famous Ljubljana Old Town.
Old Town offers highly-acclaimed restaurants, eclectic nightlife, and real connection to the history of Ljubljana and greater Slovenia.
Remember what I said about fine restaurants? More about this in a minute or two…
Parking and Getting in From the Street
The door to your Ljubljana rental apartment Trdinova is on a quiet side street. Just opposite Ljubljana Stock Exchange. (Which, contrary to what you might think, is a very quiet place.)
Here, there’s street parking at the door. Also, there’s underground parking just 100 meters away by the Intercontinental Hotel. Convenience is key!
The double-winged entrance opens into a long lobby with loads of natural night. The building interiors feature a historic and well-preserved stone staircase. With gleaming wooden railings and a decorative iron fence tracing.
I think that’s neat.
Yes, that means no elevator.
But don’t worry! Our greeters or one of our staff is always available to help with your luggage. On arrival and departure.
Up the Steps… into Your Ljubljana Rental Apartment
So here we are on the second floor. Then through two double-winged doors—which block any possible noise from the staircase—and into the apartment…
When you enter the apartment, you’re in the main hallway, with an opening at the far end. Down there, you’ll find the kitchen, living, and dining area.
Also, in the hallway, find doors on the right to two smaller rooms. The second bedroom first and then the bathroom.
As mentioned, the place is super modern, with all new appliances, classic European high ceilings, and inventive design.
We’re kind of design freaks. But I wouldn’t have it any other way.
Living, Dining, and Kitchen Areas of Ljubljana Rental Apartment
The connected living room and the kitchen is one big space of 32 square meters, with wide windows that reflect back a bustling Slovenska Street.
On the left, find a tall, white double wardrobe, with rustic golden double handles. The top is well-stocked with wine glasses and books for cozy evenings in.
Beside the wardrobe, there’s a large LCD television (55″) with an abundance of local and international channels. A dark blue couch faces the television, with two soft and cushy blue pillows. A stylish light grey and pink rug rest beneath two circular coffee tables.
Just behind the couch, you’ll find a four-person dining table with black metallic legs. Around, four black chairs match the chic design of the dining table.
Of course, you’ll also find a fully-stocked kitchen, complete with a large-sized refrigerator, a freezer, an oven and a stovetop. It’s modern and chic, with hanging exposed lights and a tile design along the back wall.
At the opposite end of the living and kitchen area, there’s the door to the Master Bedroom. Its large windows offer plenty of natural light. Which can be blocked, if needed, with thick curtains.
The queen-sized bed is set along geometric white and grey wallpaper and is very comfortable. The bedroom’s double-wide doors open out into the living area.
A Modern Bathroom and Cozy Bedroom for Two
Firstly, find the 6 m2 bathroom. It’s clean and simple, with a large, oval mirror beneath a bright bell-like light. The shower is separated from the rest of the bathroom with a transparent glass wall.
It has not one, but two shower heads. One is stationary, about two meters above the floor, and another is mobile and tube-shaped.
Secondly, find the smaller bedroom, at 6 m2. It’s just beyond a sliding white door.
The bedroom features a queen-sized bed, along with a wardrobe just above the bed and to the right. The room also offers two plug-ins above the bed, two plug-ins on the left, and one on the right.
There are three windows: one facing the lobby, and the other two toward the bathroom. They’re frosted, so privacy isn’t an issue.
Location: Just a Walk to the Bustling Ljubljana Old Town
The historic building rests along Slovenska cesta. This is the main street that slices through Ljubljana city center. From the windows, you can spot the iconic Ljubljana Skyscraper just 100 meters away. Also, the building is only eight minutes from Old Town. Personally, I love mid-afternoon walks to see some of the sights of Ljubljana.
Old Town Ljubljana is as stunning as a postcard if I do say so myself. Its history stretches back to the medieval times. World-famous Jože Plečnik himself designed many of the sights, including the Central Market and Triple Bridge.
Also, just across the street, find our Two Bedroom Slovenska apartment. If your party is bigger than six people, you can remain close by!
As mentioned, parking for this Ljubljana rental apartment is found on Trdinova street or in the parking garage under Kozolec (just 100 meters away).
Otherwise, if you prefer public transport, city buses stop directly in front of the apartment. And the Central Bus and Train station is just 10 minutes away by foot.
