Description
Ljubljana Apartments
With one bedroom and a full-size couch bed in the living room it can accommodate up to three adults or a family with one or two children. There’s a sliding door between the bedroom and living room to give everyone privacy at night. Or during the day.
With shopping, major tourist points of interest, and public transport all within a few minutes’ walk you’re sure to enjoy staying here no matter what brings you to Ljubljana.
“The Host’s Corner”
Your host, Ana, warmly invites you to enjoy staying in her home while she is travelling in far-off lands. It is clear from her expansive bookcases that Ana’s collection of literary gems is an important part of her life. You‘re welcome to enjoy a book but please put it back where you found it afterwards.
In fact, on the bookshelf just below the brand-new Yamaha sound-system, Ana has preselected a few gems that will give you a unique insight into Slovene literary landscape and cultural history.
With her broad-ranging selection of CD-s to match — anything from Western to Indian classical, from jazz to rock — the danger is you might find yourself not wanting to leave her place at all.
The secret is also to always extend, with one easy move, the sofa-bed while reading a good book, watching a movie on the flat-screen TV opposite, or simply relaxing.
As for location, Ana says: “You can’t find a better location in Ljubljana. From the front door, turn left and walk up one of the oldest streets in town to the landmark castle hilltop. Within minutes you’re surrounded by lush greenery and fantastic views of the old city center. etc….
If you choose to go the opposite direction you’ll find yourself amidst the daily hustle and bustle of the central market, with local vendors selling their fresh produce. You’re spoiled for choice here with shops and restaurants.
The best cafes are just downstairs and around the corner: go to Cafe Čokl for the best coffee in town or check out the events at Klub Daktari!”
Entry and Living Area
“Make yourself at home”
The front door off this pedestrian street leads to a common hallway and stairs up to the second floor, where you will find the door to this Fine Ljubljana Apartment.
As always, we want your arrival to be as simple and easy as possible. I know that a pleasant arrival and check-in process can set the tone for your whole stay, and it’s our goal to give you a great start to your time in our beautiful city. So don’t hesitate to mention in the contact form below if you have any needs we can help with (transportation, parking, help with your luggage, etc.).
When you step inside, you’re in a small hallway with a mirrored closet to the right and the bathroom to the left. The main living area is straight ahead. Here you’ll find a comfortable couch, which can fold into a full-size bed, and a clever folding table that seats three or even a couple more, if both sides are extended.
In this apartment you will find a flat screen TV and a very good internet connection.
Kitchen Nook
“Curl up by the window with a cup of tea”
At the far end of the living area is a kitchen nook with a small island and a couple of stools. You’ll find everything you need here, whether you’re just having a cup of tea or cooking a full meal.
A four-burner electric cooktop and full-sized oven are in the island, with the sink, refrigerator, and storage along the wall. There is no dishwasher in the kitchen because of lack of space.
This photo was taken from a cozy built-in bench that also offers a great window-seat view of the Puppet Theater’s musical clock, which opens its doors and has a musical puppet procession every hour from 8 am to 8 pm.
The kitchen is spotlessly clean and equipped with quality cookware, utensils, and dishes. Kitchen basics such as oil, vinegar, spices, and others are also supplied. Do let me know if you would like us to do some shopping before you arrive, too!
Bedroom
“Tuck yourself in with a good book.”
The bookcase conceals a sliding door leading to a cozy bedroom with a queen-size bed. When you’ve had a full day and are ready for some rest, the cheerful linens and restful atmosphere will be just the thing.
The small touches really make it nice, such as being able to switch off the light right from the bed (no need to get up and cross the room), or the corner table in the window where you can look out across Krek Square and imagine dipping your pen in your inkwell as you write postcards to friends and family.
Naturally, you can lower the blinds to darken the room at night. It is generally very quiet, although once in a while there may be sounds of people chattering away into the evening at the wonderfully bohemian café down on the square.
Bathroom
“Quirky charm”
The clean and tidy bathroom has everything you need, including a washing machine and a mini-tub (children will love this!) and shower combo. Laundry detergent, plush towels, and body care products are all provided.
