Location
The riverside Prule district is a short walk (300m) from the historic old town of Ljubljana, bordered by the river on one side and Castle Hill on the other. It remains one of the most prestigious districts of the city, scattered with charming historic buildings and home to various embassies.
There are plenty of walking trails and children’s playgrounds along the Ljubljanica river and Castle Hill is full of scenic tree-lined walks and look out points. Despite being slightly outside of the main hum of the city center, you’ll find everything at your fingertips. When you need to stock up on food and general provisions, the Mercator grocery story is just round the corner from the apartment.

Entrance to apartment building
Top and tail your day with a morning coffee at the Prulček bar (the local live music venue) and a beer or glass of wine as the sun goes down. Choose from several local restaurants, including Jakob Franc which features a traditional Slovenian menu, including delicious Krškopolje pork.
You’ll find more bars and restaurants just a short walk away on the other side of the river in the lively Trnovo district. Once home to Slovenia’s most famous architect, Jože Plečnik, one of Trnovo’s highlights is the architect’s former house which is now open to visitors as a museum.

The apartment is also well located for the Spica area, where the two tributaries of the Ljubljanica river meet. Slightly off the tourist trail, the area is popular with locals and a delightful spot for a picnic. From here, take the bridge over the river to the Botanical Garden, which, established in 1910, is Slovenia’s oldest cultural, scientific and educational institution.
Of course, you’ll also want to explore the Old Town where popular sights include the medieval Castle, the Central Market and the iconic Art Nouveau Dragon Bridge. Pretty Cobblers Bridge in the center of the Old Town is also a must. The original medieval bridge has linked the two main areas of Ljubljana for hundreds of years. The current pedestrian bridge was built by Jože Plečnik between 1931 and 1932, and originally provided space for cobblers’ workshops (also known as the Shoemakers’ Bridge).

In the lounge area, the sofa opens out to a double sofa bed and above the large screen TV (with a large selection of TV channels), extra shelving is provided by wall hung cabinets.

The well equipped kitchen has everything you need for preparing meals, with an oven, induction hob, fridge freezer, cupboard space and plenty of utensils including a kettle.
Doubling up as a dining space or convenient work station, there’s plenty of space at the living room table.
