If you’re new to Ljubljana, you’ll definitely want to explore its historic center. Highlights include the Central Market and the iconic art nouveau Dragon Bridge as well as the city’s much celebrated Castle which you’ll have spotted from the apartment, high on a hill above the city. Pretty Cobblers Bridge in the center of the Old Town is also a must. The original medieval bridge has linked the two main areas of Ljubljana for hundreds of years. But leave time to simply stroll, drink in the city’s magnificent architecture and just soak up the atmosphere at an outdoor café.

For fresh air and open space, you’ll have several options. Tivoli Park is very close to the apartment, extending over five square kilometers, and one of Ljubljana’s largest and most beautiful parks with ornamental flower beds, statues, fountains and chestnut tree lined walks. Alternatively, head for the banks of the Ljubljanica river for an early morning run or to Golovec (450m) for some of the best mountain bike trails in the area. In fact, hiring a bike is a great way to explore the city, which has a reputation for being extremely cyclist friendly.

You’ll find plenty of grocery stores, bars and restaurants close to the apartment. ‘Gostlina Gurman’, known for its authentic atmosphere and food, is just a short stroll from the apartment.

If you’re visiting Ljubljana as part of a longer stay in Slovenia, you may want to visit locations a little further afield, and having your own private underground parking space makes this possible. Highlights of the region include the charming historic town of Kamnik, the scenic Kamniška Bistrica valley and Postojna Cave. The 24km long limestone cave is home to a spectacular display of stalactites and stalagmites which can be explored over the course of a 2-3 hour guided tour. Close by, Predjama Castle is also well worth a visit. Perched on a 123-metre-high cliff, this is the world’s largest cave castle.
