If you’re looking for a unique and unforgettable place to stay in Ljubljana I think Bellevue Holiday Home fits the bill perfectly: private, roomy, versatile, awesome views, top quality custom furnishings, spotlessly clean, and just a few minutes' walk to Ljubljana's tourist hot spots.
With three bedrooms and an extra bed it can accommodate up to eight people in comfort and style. It would be ideal for one or two families traveling together or a group of friends who are eager to experience everything Ljubljana has to offer.
But it’s also great for solo travellers or just a twosome. This luxurious house gives you the opportunity to really put your feet up and relax in an extraordinary place, where you can take advantage of the peace and privacy but still have a unique encounter with Ljubljana in all its beauty.
In Pedestrian Zone of Old Ljubljana...
The adventure part of your stay starts when you arrive. The nearest drop-off point is Levstik Square, right in front of St. James' Church. (Where this photo was taken.)
From here there is a two to three minute walk that will take you straight into Ljubljana's medieval past with its narrow cobblestone streets and ancient stairways.
Old Square, the oldest part of Ljubljana. This is as central as you can be!
The narrow lane leading from Old Square to Bellevue Villa is one of the seven routes to the castle, and you will go about 100 meters up the hill before turning left into a traditional old courtyard. From here there is a series of staircases going through one building, into another courtyard, and finally leading to the entryway of Bellevue Ljubljana luxury home.
Some of these stairs are winding and uneven, so it is important to be aware of this if you are traveling with people who have mobility or balance issues. Our greeter will be there to lead the way and we will certainly provide all the help you may need to bring your luggage to the Bellevue luxury vacation home.
I want to assure you that we can provide as much assistance as you need so that your stay here will be as perfect and trouble-free as possible. Here are some of the services we can offer:
Please don’t hesitate to contact us if you have any needs or special requests that I haven’t mentioned here. Also, let us know in advance if you will be needing any of the services listed above, so that we have time to arrange it for you.
And now let’s take a closer look at this Fine Ljubljana Apartments holiday home in Ljubljana.
"Airy relaxation and breathtaking city vistas"
The luxury part of your stay starts at the door, but we will begin the tour on the top level of this spacious tri-level house, which is built right into Castle Hill.
The upper floor is an airy loft that features both a queen-sized bed and a comfortable couch that can be folded out into a double bed, with plenty of fine linens for both. There are also roomy custom-built wardrobes (with a small safe) and a large mirror that together form a sort of dressing nook.
This level has an “on top of the world” feeling. I think it's great for reading or resting after a day of exploring the city. You can enjoy the fresh air or warm sun out on the expansive west terrace or revel in the morning sunshine and listen to the birds on the east terrace with a small garden surrounding it. From the east terrace you can even explore a small, steep path up the hill to the castle if you’re feeling adventurous.
If you are staying at the Bellevue House with two families or groups, this floor is likely to become the “home base” for one group. With two queen-size beds and an optional baby crib it will be comfortable for everyone.
The air conditioning unit is located here, as well as individual controls for the heat on this floor.
From here there are sliding glass doors to both terraces, which offer the views for which the Bellevue Holiday Home was named.
The larger, west-facing terrace offers unrivaled views of Ljubljana and its surrounding landscape, ranging from Mt. Krim (the highest peak in the Ljubljana basin) to the pink church on Rožnik Hill, which along with Tivoli serves as Ljubljana's very own “Central Park” and is a popular landmark.
On clear days you also have a great view of the rolling hills climbing out of the Ljubljana Marsh on the horizon. Looking down into the city, there are lovely views of St. James, the Neo-Romanesque Trnovo Church, the National and University Library (NUK) designed by Jože Plečnik, the historic seat of the University of Ljubljana, and other noteworthy buildings.
Ljubljana's characteristic red roof tiles stand in colorful contrast to the green trees of the Ljubljanica riverbanks and Congress Square that give the city a look all its own.
The floor on this terrace is heated, which means that it will be dry and comfortable in all seasons. There is also a large umbrella for especially sunny days. Just picture yourself enjoying a refreshing drink on this lovely private terrace with Ljubljana spreading out before your eyes.
On the other side of the building there is another smaller terrace featuring morning sunshine and views both of the city below and Castle Hill behind the house.
"Flexible living space with a top-notch kitchen"
The loft looks over the next level down, the kitchen and living area, to which we will now turn our attention. The vaulted ceiling and expansive windows make this an exceptionally comfortable space, even for a large group.
Together with the well-equipped kitchen and custom-made furnishings this space will immediately feel like home to everyone in your group.
"Flexible, functional space for any group"
The large couch is a great place to socialize or watch TV and the long table seats eight for dinner or gives the kids room to do artwork or play board games. The credenza and small coffee table were custom-made from historic wood the owners repurposed from hay racks (Sln. kozolec), which are a unique feature of the Slovenian landscape.
I think these personal touches really give this home that extra something special that will make your stay even more pleasant.
These days it seems that no living room is complete without a certain level of technology. I think you and your group will find what you need here:
"A gourmet’s paradise"
Any cook will be delighted to explore the kitchen and find not just top-quality basics, but countless extra gadgets and equipment for any style of food preparation.
Use the blender to make smoothies using fresh produce from the nearby market, or make sandwiches for the kids with the electric grill.
But there is a small risk: after you've enjoyed this superb kitchen you may not even want to go home to your own! :-)
This kitchen has so much to offer that I’ve compiled a list of the top amenities here:
Basic ingredients (oil, vinegar, salt, pepper, Illy coffee, tea, brown and white sugar, some pasta, etc.) are kept in stock at all times. In combination with our offer to take care of the shopping for you (all I need is advance notice and your shopping list!), this means you’ll be able to get started using this fabulous kitchen immediately.
An exciting new feature at the Bellevue House (or any other FLA apartment) is the option to have a chef from a popular trendy restaurant and his staff come in and prepare dinner for you and your group.
You choose the menu and they will take care of the rest, from buying the freshest ingredients at Ljubljana’s Central Market to preparation, serving, and interesting conversation about the recipe choices and cooking techniques. This is a really personalized and special event that I think you will love. See this page for more details.
Hidden behind a sliding door, this floor also has a bathroom with a walk-in shower, fully supplied with towels and hair and body care products, and a full-size washing machine with detergent and a laundry rack.
"Peace and quiet for a restful night"
From here we can take the stairs down to the lowest level, which is where we actually entered the house. (Remember our walk up the winding stairs of Castle Hill?)
The entryway has places to stash your shoes, coats, and umbrellas, plus some slippers for guests, in good Slovenian tradition.
Straight on from the entryway is a hallway leading to two bedrooms and a full bathroom.
If you are staying at the Bellevue House with two families or groups, this floor will be the “home base” for one group. With a queen-size bed, bunk beds for up to three and an optional baby crib it can flexibly serve your group’s needs.
The first bedroom is ideally suited to children, because it features a bunk bed with a single above and a double below. Two or even three children would be happy here, as long as they can agree on who gets the top bunk. You may have to flip a coin to make a fair choice, though.
Guests with children will also be able to use a baby crib with quality bed linen, provided for no extra charge. There are pencils, paints, and paper for children's craft projects, so no need to worry if you happen to forget to bring your own.
Then the second bedroom has a queen-size bed and large wardrobe and other storage. All the beds feature quality mattresses and linens, of course, like every property we offer at Fine Ljubljana Apartments.
"Stylish and spotless"
The bathroom is finished with elegant, quality elements including a full-size tub with shower and of course all the soft, thick towels and luxurious body care products you could need.
